A former WWE star is to have their first televised match since their departure from WWE in 2016 and it’ll be against another former WWE star.

Alex Riley has previously has been in the ring since his WWE release, wrestling for Create A Pro in December 2022.

Kiley signed a WWE developmental contract in 2007 and would be seen on the second season of NXT in 2010 being mentored by The Miz.

He would remain with the company until his release in May 2016 and wouldn’t return to the wrestling ring until the Create A Pro show on December 8 where he would team with Tyrus.

In 2020, Arn Anderson revealed that heat between John Cena and Alex Riley was instrumental in derailing Riley’s WWE career.

Anderson suggested that Riley’s response to an offer for help from Cena was met less than enthusiastically.

When the story got back to the office, Riley’s fate was pretty much sealed.

Following his Create A Pro match, Riley spoke about how grateful he was to make a return to pro-wrestling with Tyrus.
