WWE has confirmed that there will be two Elimination Chamber qualifying matches set for tonight’s episode of SmackDown (February 7), one of which including the recently returning Alexa Bliss.
As confirmed via an announcement on social media, Alexa Bliss will compete in singles action for the first time in over two years as she takes on Candice LeRae to determine who will enter the women’s Elimination Chamber match on March 1.
Reports ahead of Bliss’ return seemed to suggest that she was planned to land on WWE Raw, which at the time, would have meant she’d be on the same brand as the Wyatt Sicks – but after her return was delayed due to the contract situation, the Wyatts were moved to SmackDown.
It remains to be seen if there will be any overlap in the storylines between Bliss and the members of the Wyatt Sicks who have been absent from TV since moving to the blue brand, now that both Bliss and the Wyatts are confirmed to be on the same roster.
Also announced for tonight’s SmackDown is another Elimination Chamber qualifier as Piper Niven takes on Bianca Belair.
Elsewhere on tonight’s show, a big three-way match was confirmed to determine who would gain entry into the men’s WWE Elimination Chamber.
After announcing that Drew McIntyre had been officially drafted to SmackDown, GM Nick Aldis confirmed that on tonight’s show (February 7) McIntyre would face off against Jimmy Uso and LA Knight in a men’s Elimination Chamber qualifying match.
