Report: WWE To ‘Amp Up’ Roman Reigns Vs. John Cena Feud Tonight

It’s being reported that WWE has a specific goal in mind for SmackDown tonight to “amp up” the build to Roman Reigns vs John Cena.

The pair are set for a match at SummerSlam for Reigns’ Universal Championship, and there are now only two SmackDowns left including tonight’s until that match.

WrestleVotes is reporting that some people feel the build to the match has been “lackluster”, so it seems there’s going to be an effort tonight to inject more life into it.

WWE has announced that both men will come “face-to-face” on tonight’s show, so there’s likely to be some shenanigans there.

Two weeks ago, Cena signed the contract that was supposed to be signed by Finn Balor for a match against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam in a segment that also included Baron Corbin trying to sign the contract before Cena did.

Cena then wasn’t on the show last week because he was at the Suicide Squad premiere, so Reigns and the Usos attacked Balor on that show instead.

WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of tonight’s SmackDown, which also features Apollo Crews defending the Intercontinental Title against Shinsuke Nakamura, and a contract signing with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks before their own SummerSlam match for Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Title.
