Andrade WWE Return Update

Andrade WWE Return Update AEW/WWE

An update has emerged on the level of interest that WWE has in bringing Andrade back into the fold, following his recent AEW return.

As previously reported, details of Andrade’s departure from WWE emerged, with indications that he had been fired for “disciplinary issues”.

Andrade then made a return to AEW on October 1, but has been absent since then, with WWE seeking to enforce a one-year non-compete clause.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now provided additional details on WWE’s interest in bringing Andrade back.

As noted in the recent issue, there seemingly hasn’t been talk in WWE about bringing back the former United States Champion. The report states:

“For what this is worth, according to those in WWE, the rumors from last week that WWE is looking to now bring him back aren’t true.

“One person near the top who would likely know (although there are lots of secrets) said that he had never heard the name discussed. Another who would have to know said the story wasn’t true.

“Keep in mind WWE is known for keeping some things that are big secret, but I don’t know if Andrade coming back qualifies in the category of the Rollins fake injury or the Lesnar return or the Cena heel turn or the Punk return.”

Andrade initially returned at the Royal Rumble in January 2024, having debuted in AEW back in June of 2021, following his request for his release from WWE being granting in March of that year.

As noted, his return to AEW has seen only one appearance, at the time of writing, being on the aforementioned October 1 episode of Dynamite, whereupon he attacked Kenny Omega and joined the Don Callis Family.
