WWE Announcer Returns On SmackDown

WWE Announcer Returns On SmackDown WWE

A WWE announcer has returned to his role for tonight’s October 17 episode of WWE SmackDown in San Jose, California.

For a few weeks in September, Brock Lesnar appeared on SmackDown to build towards his Wrestlepalooza match against John Cena.

One of his appearances saw him aggressively target lead announcer Michael Cole.

While Cole survived, his partner Corey Graves didn’t, as when Graves attempted to persuade Lesnar to leave Cole along, Lesnar attacked Graves instead.

This wrote Graves off WWE TV for several weeks, until tonight.

Graves is back on the call for tonight’s show, alongside NXT lead commentator Vic Joseph.

Joseph replaced Cole on an episode of SmackDown a few weeks ago, calling the show alongside his usual NXT partner, Booker T, who has been filling in for Graves for a number of weeks.

During his time off TV, Corey Graves’ wife, former WWE star Carmella, gave birth to their second child together.

Tonight’s SmackDown opened with a promo from Cody Rhodes, acknowledging tonight’s match between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre will determine his #1 contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Reports have indicated ahead of the show that the Fatu vs McIntyre match isn’t actually going to take place tonight, but we’ll keep you posted with updates throughout the show.
