WWE Announces Injury To Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre had a rough night on Monday. Randy Orton took out his frustrations from SummerSlam and delivered three punt kicks to the WWE Champion. Just one has been enough to put men out for months but McIntyre took three.

Now, WWE has provided an update on his condition. According to a report from WWE.com, McIntyre has suffered a hairline jaw fracture as a result of the attacks from Orton. Here is their official statement:

“Ahead of WWE Payback, WWE Digital has learned Drew McIntyre sustained a hairline jaw fracture as a result of the three kicks to the skull from Randy Orton on Monday Night Raw.

Charly Caruso reported on Raw that medical staff were fearful of a skull fracture and potential brain bleeding to Drew McIntyre after Randy Orton delivered the vicious attacks to thee WWE Champion. The medical officials did also express concern the injuries could potentially be career-threatening.

McIntyre was eventually loaded into an ambulance and transported to a local medical facility for further testing.”

Orton has gotten himself involved with Keith Lee. Lee made his debut on Monday as well, and had his first match against Orton. Their match was far from conclusive and now the two will wrestle tonight at Payback. What this injury means for McIntyre and his rivalry with Orton still remains to be seen.
