Baron Corbin went to town on Elias last week on SmackDown, laying the drifter out backstage. This has been a continuation of their feud, which began prior to WrestleMania. Now, WWE has announced the injuries he suffered as a result of the beating.
It was revealed on The Bump that Elias has suffered a bruised larynx as well as broken fingers.

During the segment, Elias was jumped backstage by Corbin. Corbin got all the offence, slamming him around the backstage area before hitting him in the throat with his sceptre. The segment ended with Elias laying on the ground wheezing uncontrollably. This is what WWE will say caused the bruised larynx.
It will be interesting to see where this rivalry goes next as Elias’ whole gimmick involves playing the guitar. Playing the guitar, mind you, is very difficult to do with broken fingers. If he still manages to pull this off then this is just too wacky for me.
The two also competed at WrestleMania with Corbin being beaten once again. Clearly he has not gotten over the loss and the two will continue to feud on SmackDown.
