WWE has announced an injury to a popular Raw star.
On the August 28 edition of WWE Raw, The Viking Raiders defeated The New Day. During the latter stages of the bout, Viking Raiders got physical with Drew McIntyre and Matt Riddle at ringside.
In response, McIntyre launched his commentary chair at Erik, but nailed Xavier Woods instead, which led to the New Day’s loss.
Woods took to social media following Raw to reveal that he suffered some whiplash after this incident and would be taking the week off for the next episode of Raw.
Now, WWE has made it official by announcing the injury to the New Day member on their Twitter account, noting he will be out of action on next Monday’s show. The tweet reads:
BREAKING: Xavier Woods suffered a cervical strain after getting hit by a chair thrown by Drew McIntyre. He will miss the upcoming Monday Night Raw.
McIntyre and Riddle will face The Viking Raiders in a Tornado Tag Team Match on next Monday’s September 4 edition of WWE Raw.
