WWE Announces New Tournament

A tournament has been announced to determine the number one contender for the WWE United States Championship on tonight’s SmackDown.

At WWE Crown Jewel 2023, Logan Paul defeated Rey Mysterio to win the United States Championship.

Since then, Paul has been absent from WWE programming, but that all changed on the December 1 edition of SmackDown from the Barclay Center in Brooklyn.

Logan Paul made his first appearance on SmackDown since winning gold and announced a new tournament.

The U.S. Champion announced the participants as Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Grayson Waller, Santos Escobar, Dragon Lee, Karrion Kross and a member of the NXT roster.

The tournament will begin next week.

It remains to be seen who from the NXT roster will be part of the tournament at the time of this writing.

This led to Owens coming out to interrupt Paul and have a heated exchange where KO said he would win the tournament.

However, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller came out to interrupt Owens before KO would shut up the duo by punching Theory in the mouth to end the segment.

Next, Kevin Owens beat Grayson Waller in a singles match with Logan Paul on commentary.
