WWE Announces Returning Tournament Set To Start ‘Soon’ WWE

On tonight’s edition of WWE NXT, the return of a WWE tournament was announced ahead of a major main event match tonight in the division.

While the main event of the night is yet to occur to find out if Tiffany Stratton or Becky Lynch will leave tonight’s NXT as the NXT Women’s Champion, there may be a new tournament coming to determine who gets the next shot at the belt.

Announced on tonight’s WWE NXT, the return of an exceptionally fun tournament that occurred last year as well: the NXT Women’s Division will see the return of the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament.

With the 2022 iteration offering the winner of the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament a contract that they could cash in at any time, on any brand and for any title, there were a scintillating list of possibilities.

In June 2022, Roxanne Perez defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the Money in the Bank style contract guarantee that was offered as the winner’s purse in last year’s tournament.

While Perez would use her guaranteed title shot against Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship, she would be sabotaged by her tag team partner and co-tag champ, Cora Jade leading to an entirely different storyline between the two young stars.

The participants in the 2023 NXT Women’s Breakout tournament have yet to be announced but certainly continue to check in to WrestleTalk.com for all the latest updates.
