WWE has announced an update on the status of Ricochet, with his contract set to expire and reports indicating he’ll be leaving this summer.
Ricochet was attacked by Bron Breakker on this past Monday’s WWE Raw, seemingly planned as a way to write Ricochet off WWE TV.
Ricochet was stretchered out of the venue and left in an ambulance with his real-life fiancée Samantha Irvin crying by his side.
WWE itself has now provided an update on Ricochet’s status, announcing:
Ricochet has suffered multiple upper body injuries and will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.
Reports indicated that Raw was indeed planned to be his final appearance, but PWInsider noted there had been “talk” of him returning for one more appearance before his exit.
That talk came about due to the buzz that the news of his departure caused online when it came out that he was planning on leaving.
Many expect Ricochet will head to AEW upon his exit from WWE, with his contract expiring in July.
Will Ospreay had spoken publicly recently about wanting to face Ricochet in AEW in a rematch from several years ago.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
