FOX Asks Fans To Stop Using “What?” Chant

What?

WWE has once again requested that fans please stop using the “What?” chant that so often rings through an arena when the crowd loses interest, or if the speaker is foreign.

It is far from the first time the promotion has asked for these chants to stop, as it is seen as disrespectful to the performer.

Rusev even called out fans for using it while Jerry Lawler was speaking on last night’s Raw, and it is widely believed that wrestlers find it one of the most irritating chants around.

WWE on Fox’s Twitter page tweeted last night asking fans to stop using the tweet, but has since deleted the evidence.

Can we stop the ‘What’ chants? It’s no longer 2001. xoxo

They then added to their point by calling out fans who chanted it during Angelo Dawkins’ farewell speech to NXT.

We saw people chanting it to @AngeloDawkins as he said goodbye to @WWENXT, and now to a ‘Hall Of Famer’ on RAW. That’s not a sign of rebellion, it’s a sign of disrespect.

Now back to RAW.

While it is a staple of the average WWE fan’s chant diet, you can see why it would get annoying, particularly during a goodbye speech.
