Standing tall on a solid night of wrestling at Backlash 2023 was the San Juan Street Fight match between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest.
The match, aided by an absolutely electric crowd, saw one of the world’s biggest recording artists put on an excellent performance against the Judgment Day member.
It has now been revealed that a former WWE talent played a major role in how the contest played out.
According to PWInsider, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick co-produced the street fight alongside Jamie Noble.
This would be the first association between Kendrick and WWE since Survivor Series 2022 where he would reportedly have a try-out as a producer, working on that event’s Smackdown Women’s Championship bout between Ronda Rousey and Shotzi.
At the time it was reported that Kendrick was brought in at the request of Rousey specifically, however it is currently unclear as to who was behind Kendrick’s most recent involvement and whether it was a one-off or a return to the company full-time.
