WWE made a change to its plans for tonight’s Backlash 2025 premium live event at the Enterprise Center in St Louis, Missouri.
Tonight’s show will be headlined John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against hometown hero Randy Orton.
Reporting emerged ahead of Backlash noting the planned match order, featuring Dominik Mysterio defending the Intercontinental Championship against Penta as the opener.
However, in a case of plans being subject to change, WWE made an adjustment to its lineup.
The opening match actually ended up being the United States Championship four-way match, which is about to start as of this writing.
US Champion Jacob Fatu defends his title against LA Knight, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest.
Fatu has held the championship since WrestleMania 41, where he won it from Knight.
Knight is a two-time United States Champion, while Priest has a also held it before, winning it from Sheamus in August 2021 before losing it to Finn Balor in February 2022.
McIntyre is the only man in the match to have never held the United States Championship, with it being the only title he still needs to complete the ‘Grand Slam’.
