New WWE Signing Update Ahead Of Backlash 2025

An update has emerged on a potential new signing ahead of tonight’s WWE Backlash 2025 premium live event.

For weeks now, fans have been anticipating the WWE arrival of former NJPW star Jeff Cobb.

Reports from PWInsider have indicated that Cobb is already listed on the SmackDown roster internally within WWE, and he was scheduled to be present a Backlash in St Louis tonight.

Posting an update on his whereabouts just a few hours before the show, Cobb has let everyone know that he’s apparently in Los Angeles.

He posted a video of him working out there, as well as the message:

Just finished a sweet workout and I can’t believe after so many years of going to LA, this was my first time going here! If you are in the area I suggest checking it out! Gym, free tanning and when you’re done, a beach to jump into!

When a fan responded “I hear St Louis is a great place to visit this time of year 🤫” – an obvious reference to WWE Backlash – Cobb replied:

I always left Missouri for summer break around mid May, someday I’ll experience Missouri in late May lol

It’s worth noting that Cobb has had plenty of fun with the reports of him joining WWE, including supposedly announcing his “retirement”.
