A WWE star has revealed that they’re working through pain suffered at WrestleMania as they head towards Backlash on May 10.
Night Two of WrestleMania 41 saw Drew McIntyre defeat Damian Priest in a Sin City Street Fight on April 20.
With Priest now heading to WWE Backlash in a Fatal Four-Way match for the United States Championship, he has revealed he’s still in pain from the Street Fight.
Speaking in an appearance on the MLB Network, Priest revealed that, despite the pain, he’s looking forward to WWE Backlash, stating:
“I still haven’t recovered from Mania physically. So I’m looking at this match and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Okay, so I’m definitely gonna feel pain for a while.’
“It is what it is, like I said, these are some of the heaviest hitters in the company, big guys that are mega stars right now.
“I’m looking forward to it because I love that physicality anyway.”
Damian Priest will be joined by Drew McIntyre and LA Knight when Jacob Fatu defends the WWE United States Championship in the upcoming match.
Priest is a former WWE United States Champion and has also held the World Heavyweight Championship, along with the Raw & SmackDown Tag Team titles.
Also added to the WWE Backlash card after last night’s episode of Raw is Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio defending against Penta.
The show is set to be headlined by John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against hometown hero Randy Orton.
Elsewhere on the card, GUNTHER faces Pat McAfee, and Becky Lynch challenges for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria.
