WWE budget cuts from before Vince McMahon’s departure have reportedly been having a big effect backstage recently.
Prior to Vince McMahon’s departure, it was reported that Joe Henning and Ariya Daivari were no longer being brought in for producer work due to budget cuts.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), WWE has started doubling up on producer assignments. It was noted that producers would previously have one assignment per show, but producers pulling double duty is now reportedly commonplace.
It was also noted that several segments that would’ve usually been worked on by two producers have only had one name working on them.
Per the report, there were also producers who would be straight up taken off the road temporarily to limit the cost of them travelling to tapings.
Fightful indicated that these changes, introduced before McMahon’s retirement announcement, have been carried over following his departure.
Daivari has since joined AEW and is currently aligned with Slim J and Parker Boudreaux as part of the TrustBusters faction.
