A popular WWE star has received a lot of praise backstage for their performance at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The December 14 NBC special featured several title matches, including a threeway bout for the World Heavyweight Championship.
In this bout, GUNTHER defended his gold against both Finn Balor and Damian Priest.
In the closing moments of the bout, GUNTHER powerbombed Damian Priest on steel steps outside of the ring, before hitting Finn Balor with a dropkick/powerbomb combo for the win.
The Ring General showed off his strength when delivering the powerbomb to Priest, with Priest’s feet catching the steps on the way up and halting his momentum, ahead of GUNTHER managing to perform the maneuver anyway.
Per Fightful Select, GUNTHER received a lot of praise backstage for ‘saving the ending spot’ of the bout.
GUNTHER has been the World Heavyweight Champion since SummerSlam, when he defeated Damian Priest for the gold, following interference in their title match from Finn Balor.
The Ring General notably faced WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for the Crown Jewel Championship in November, where he ultimately came up short.
