WWE Backstage Reaction To Talent Departure Revealed WWE

The backstage reaction to the recent departure of WWE star Damon Kemp from the company has been revealed following his contract expiry.

Kemp revealed that he was no longer under a WWE contract on Twitter, noting that he was “forever grateful fo the people [he] met and the experiences [he] had”.

A member of No Quarter Catch Crew in WWE NXT alongside Charlie Dempsey, Myles Bourne and Tavion Heights, Kemp is the real-life brother of Gable Steveson.

Gable Steveson was released by WWE in May 2024, having signed with the company in September 2021.

Addressing Damon Kemp’s WWE departure, Dave Meltzer provided some details on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“I’ve asked around with people that know him and I’ve heard, basically contradictory stories, but what I will say is that the people who are around are all surprised.”

Following Kemp’s announcement of his free agency, it was reported that his WWE contract had expired.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Kemp’s departure was not part of “a round of cuts” and rather Kemp was told his contract would not be renewed.

Kemp signed with WWE in August 2021 and was featured on NXT, 205 Live and NXT UK.
