Following the pay-per-view, a new report has revealed WWE’s backstage reaction to Daniel Garcia’s AEW All In return.
At AEW All In London, Will Ospreay defeated MJF to retain the AEW International Championship. During the course of the bout, Daniel Garcia made his return to stop MJF from using brass knuckles.
This marked Garcia’s first appearance on AEW programming since Maxwell Jacob Friedman brutally attacked him on the July 3 Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite.
This also followed recent reports about Garcia’s contract with the company being set to expire this fall and interest from WWE in signing the young star.
Dave Meltzer provided an update in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that one has to think that Daniel Garcia’s return is an indication that he is staying with AEW and those within WWE believe that.
When the angle with MJF turning on Garcia was done, several close to the situation noted that they expected Garcia to stay, but he had considered a move over to WWE.
The report also notes that WWE did in fact try to recruit the former ROH Pure Champion to sign with the promotion.
