Following her appearance at NXT Battleground, a new report has revealed WWE’s backstage reaction to Sexyy Red’s arrest.
At NXT Battleground 2024, rapper Sexyy Red appeared as the guest host of the event.
It was later revealed that Red was arrested after an altercation at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey the morning of Saturday, June 8 – the day before Battleground.
According to TMZ, the arrest was reportedly for “disorderly conduct” while others in this situation were charged with assault, which you can read more about here.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that those in NXT and WWE do not expect this arrest to prevent Sexyy Red appearing on WWE programming in the future.
The report notes that there were plans for future NXT appearances from the rapper, as of Sunday night.
However, news of the arrest did come as a surprise to WWE officials, who were unaware of the incident that took place the morning before NXT Battleground.
WrestleTalk.com will provide further updates on Sexyy Red’s WWE status when they become available.
