A new report has revealed the backstage reaction in WWE to Shane McMahon meeting with AEW President Tony Khan.
As previously reported by WrestleTalk and Fightful, former WWE star Shane McMahon had a private meeting with AEW CEO Tony Khan on Monday, July 29.
The meeting was said to include discussions over “possibilities moving forward”, seemingly in regards to McMahon potentially appearing in All Elite Wrestling.
Another report had revealed that McMahon had attempted to return to WWE ahead of his meeting with Khan, which you can read about here.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has now provided an update, noting that there was some discussion among WWE talent at SummerSlam 2024 about Shane McMahon’s meeting with Tony Khan.
The report notes that most within the company that the outlet spoke to believe Shane will end up at least making an appearance for AEW.
It remains to be seen if McMahon will appear in the company at the time of this writing – you can read McMahon’s own statement about the meeting here.
