Former WWE Star Baron Corbin’s Next Move After Wrestling Return Update WWE

Former WWE star Tom Pestock (fka Baron Corbin) has provided an update on his wrestling future ahead of his return match.

News first emerged in November 2024 of WWE’s decision to not renew Pestock’s contract, ending his 12 year tenure with the company.

Ahead of his return to the ring, there has been a lot of speculation about which promotion could be the next home for the former US Champion.

Pestock has now revealed his in-ring plans during recent Twitter exchanges about an AEW star.

The ex-WWE name recently reacted to a post on Twitter calling for Tony Khan to release Rey Fenix from his AEW contract, with Pestock arguing that if you sign a contract, both sides should honor it.

When a fan accused Pestock of attempting to get signed by AEW, Pestock stated that he’s not interested in a long-term deal, writing:

“False. I understand contracts and have no desire to sign a long term deal right now.”

Pestock’s comments indicate that he will continue to compete as an independent talent following his upcoming in-ring return, which will mark his first match since his WWE departure.

He also reiterated on Twitter that he’s interested in pursuing a number of projects away from the ring, including working on a horror movie.

Pestock will return to the ring at Sunday’s (January 19) GCW’s ‘The People vs GCW’ event.

The ex-WWE star will face off against Josh Barnett in a Bloodsport match.
