Former WWE Champion Announced As 2025 Oscars Presenter WWE/AMPAS

The 97th Academy Awards takes place on March 2, 2025, and former WWE star Batista will be presenting a coveted Oscar.

Emilia Pérez leads the field with thirteen nominations ahead of the event, including Best Supporting Actress with Zoe Saldaña.

Saldaña isn’t the only Marvel Studios alum who will be in attendance at the ceremony, with her Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Dave Bautista set to present an award, among other names that comic book movie fans will recognise.

Bautista, who played Drax alongside Saldaña’s Gamora, was announced in the fourth slate of presenters announced, alongside Harrison Ford, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Margaret Qualley, Alba Rohrwacher, Zoe Saldana and Rachel Zegler.

This means that Bautista will be one of the names presenting a specific award at Sunday’s event.

Dune: Part Two, which saw Bautista reprise his role as Rabban, is nominated for five awards, including Best Picture.

The star of Dune: Part Two, Timothée Chalamet, has received his second Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

It was recently reported that Bautista will take the lead role in ‘Dreadnought’ a science fiction movie in which his character must stop an ‘alien Sentinel’ taking his dying sister.

The dystopian movie is being directed by Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott who previously directed Bautista in 2017’s Bushwick.

In April 2019, Batista announced his retirement from WWE bringing to an end a career that started in 2000.
