A former multi-time WWE Champion has reportedly been offered an undetermined role in an upcoming major movie sequel.
According to Deadline, Batista has received an offer to appear in the Guy Ritchie-directed sequel to the 2024 movie Road House, itself a remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze vehicle.
The Amazon MGM Studios sequel will see Jake Gyllenhaal return to the role of Dalton, with talks yet to start for Batista’s proposed involvement.
Ritchie replaces Doug Liman in the director’s chair with Will Beall adopting screenplay duties, replacing Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry.
Will Beall was the writer for the movie “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” in 2024, alongside Chris Bremner.
At the time of writing, no production or release date has been confirmed for Road House 2, with Batista also set to star in the November 2025 release “Trap House“.
Currently in production for the former WWE Champion is “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender”, an animated fantasy movie, in which he will voice the villain of the piece.
With James Gunn having recently announced a Bane & Deathstroke movie for DC Studios, an AEW star has put himself forward for a lead role, assuming Batista is unavailable.
