WWE & AEW Stars Celebrate Anniversary Of Championship Match AEW/WWE

A WWE and AEW star have celebrated the 10th anniversary of a ‘Match of the Year’, sharing memories of the encounter.

On August 22, 2015, NXT TakeOver Brooklyn took place and saw Bayley defeat Sasha Banks to become NXT Women’s Champion.

The match would be awarded ‘Match of the Year’ at that year’s NXT Year-End Awards.

With the 10th anniversary of the match, Bayley shared her thoughts on social media, and revealed plans for a live stream with the star known as Mercedes Mone in AEW.

Over on Twitter, Bayley shared a number of photos, including one of the pair backstage embracing, with a message that reads:

“A night that I can still feel as if it was yesterday.

“Happy 10.

“We can’t celebrate it the way we wished as we’re both overseas BUT we’ll be doing an IG together live in a few hours. See you guys then ❤️”

Bayley would also share a post on Instagram, including even more photos from her time together with Banks, and a message that stated:

“10 years ago today.

“It’s hard to put it into words right now but hang with us on IG live later today and I’ll try to express all these crazy feelings.

“I’m forever grateful that my wrestling journey aligned with yours, @mercedesmone. To be around someone that truly felt the SAME way that I did about all of this has been a blessing. I still can’t believe we have this night that will live on forever. You’re the best in the world.

“You changed my life. And we changed da world.

“Thank you, everyone ❤️”

Mone would reply to the Instagram post with a message of support to Bayley, posting:

“I love you Marky forever, You changed my life forever! I pray one day we can do it ☝🏽 more time!”

Bayley is currently in Europe for the Road to Clash in Paris tour and joined a training session at Fight Factory in Ireland, with a photo being shared on Twitter.

Mercedes Mone is in the United Kingdom ahead of a busy weekend that will see her at Revolution Pro Wrestling before heading to AEW Forbidden Door on August 24.
