WWE’s Bayley brought back a past character trait when she reunited with former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee in a recent photo.
Recently an executive producer and commentator for WOW (Women of Wrestling), April Mendez (AJ Lee) and Bayley have a long-lasting friendship.
In June 2022, Bayley commented that she wouldn’t be who she is today without AJ Lee.
This came after Mendez had spoken about about Bayley on an episode of Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast.
In a recent photo shared on Instagram (which can be seen below), Bayley can be seen sharing an embrace with Mendez, with the caption:
“I’m a hugger.”
Bayley was, indeed, a hugger back in her NXT days after she signed with the company in December 2012.
AJ Lee signed with WWE in May 2009 and would debut as April Lee in late July before adopting the AJ Lee name later that year.
She would go on to become a three-time WWE Divas Champion and would retire from in-ring competition in April 2015.
In 2021, she became an executive producer for WOW, Women of Wrestling, and provided color commentary in September 2022 – she recently announced she’d be stepping away.
