ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham has been making the rounds on the independents in recent months, including capturing the PROGRESS World Championship from Cara Noir at this weekend’s show.
Gresham capturing the PROGRESS World Championship was surprising given the promotion’s ties with WWE, and ROH’s obvious ties with AEW, many had wondered how WWE would handle Gresham’s matches on the shows.
Dave Meltzer noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the belief is that when PROGRESS sends their shows to WWE, they will be editing out Gresham’s matches, as he is ‘likely’ to be an AEW contracted guy very soon.
WWE has previously edited out the matches that AEW’s Anthony Ogogo had for the promotion.
