Top WWE Star Breaks Character To Praise Rival As ‘One Of The Greatest In This Business’ WWE

A top WWE star has taken to social media to break character and praise one of their rivals as “one of the greatest in the business”.

WWE said goodbye to the red Raw Women’s Championship belt on the June 9 episode of SmackDown, replacing it with the new gold WWE Women’s Championship belt.

Bayley and Bianca Belair both had one reign each with the red title – Bayley’s lasting 75 days way back in 2017, and Belair’s lasting a record 419 days and ending as recently as May 17 when she lost it to Asuka at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.

During Belair’s lengthy reign, she and Bayley had a series of matches for the title, including a Last Woman Standing match at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last November.

First, Bayley responded to a clip of the match by tweeting:

Goodbye to the #RAW Womens title. Thanks for the special moments, this being one of MANY.

Belair then responded with a heartfelt out-of-character comment for Bayley, who was pretty much her biggest rival for the title.

Belair wrote:

One of my absolute favs!!!!!!! Whew I love this match. Despite our difference we had we made a lot of history together. Thank you for the fights and memories especially during this title reign. … respect to one of the greatest in this business!

The future looks to be intriguing for Belair and Bayley, who are both on SmackDown coming out of the WWE Draft just over a month ago.

Belair appears to potentially be turning heel after a returning Charlotte Flair was given a match for the WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka before Belair was given a rematch.

For Bayley, it was looking like a split between Damage CTRL (herself, IYO SKY and Dakota Kai) was inevitable, and a split between Bayley and SKY may still be imminent, but at least part of the plan is likely to have changed due to Kai being out with an injury.

Bayley will be part of the upcoming women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on July 1 in London. Belair is not currently announced for the show but a likely direction would be a three-way for the WWE Women’s Championship with her, Asuka and Flair.
