Bizarre Moment In Untelevised WWE Match Leaves Opponent Confused WWE

A bizarre moment during a recent untelevised WWE match has left a SmackDown star appearing extremely confused.

After his in-ring WWE debut at NXT’s Great American Bash event in July wasn’t received particularly well, Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has been plying his trade on WWE’s live event circuit.

Initially continuing to wrestle on NXT branded shows, has recently progressed to untelevised matches on WWE SmackDown since the beginning of the year.

Having twice defeated Cedric Alexander on January 5 and 12, he was paired with someone new for the most recent edition of SmackDown (January 19), that being Cameron Grimes.

Similarly to Alexander, Grimes is an experienced wrestler despite his lack of TV time and seems like another good choice to aid the 23-year-old’s development.

While that may be the case, it seems as if one action Steveson performed in the match led to confusion, not only from fans online but from Grimes himself.

In footage captured from SmackDown at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena and later uploaded to Twitter, Steveson can be seen running attempting either a German suplex or possibly a roll up pin, only for Grimes to hold the ropes and prevent that from happening.

Then, rather bafflingly Steveson decided to perform a full back flip for no apparent reason; leaving Grimes to throw up his hands in confusion.

You can see footage of the amusing moment down below.

In other SmackDown news, a WWE star has responded to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns after the Tribal Chief said he didn’t like them.
