Former WWE Star Laments Huge ‘Mishap’ With The Bloodline WWE

Ex-WWE star Shelton Benjamin has weighed in on what he sees as the ‘biggest mishaps’ when it comes to The Bloodline and a missed opportunity.

Benjamin was released by WWE in September 2023 having returned to the company in August 2017.

A member of the Hurt Business alongside MVP, Bobby Lashley and Cedric Alexander, that stable featured on WWE television between 2020 and 2022.

A reunion was teased on WWE Raw, but plans to bring them back were never made official, with the return never going beyond a tease.

With The Bloodline forming around Roman Reigns after the 2020 edition of WWE SummerSlam, there was a period where the two stables could have crossed paths in meaningful ways.

Discussing what could have been in a recent interview with the Metro, Shelton Benjamin stated:

“I love being a part of helping people succeed. But in the case of the Hurt Business, I felt like there was so much more for every individual in that to really elevate themselves within the company.

“And I think the fact that there was no Hurt Business versus Bloodline war is one of the biggest mishaps in pro wrestling.”

Shelton also revealed that there were promises of a return for the Hurt Business going so far as dates being set, then changed before plans were dropped.

Elsewhere in the interview, Benjamin also revealed scrapped plans for a romance angle with Paige (now Saraya in AEW).
