WWE Hall Of Famer Shares Views On AEW Full Gear

WWE Hall Of Famer Shares Views On AEW Full Gear AEW

A WWE Hall of Famer has shared his views on AEW’s premium-live-event on November 19, Full Gear.

Booker T made his comments during the latest edition of The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore.

Full Gear saw MJF become the new World AEW Champion, aided by a shock assist from William Regal.

Booker T was full of praise for MJF and believes his performance can bring attention back to wrestling rather than the drama behind the scenes.

He said:

“I like that kid. I like everything about MJF. I had a chat with him on the Jericho cruise a couple of years ago and I thought this kid was a student of the game.

“I watch him work in the ring as well as out of the ring and it seems like he’s a student of the game, still.

“I heard a little bit of the press conference that he did after the match. I didn’t see the match, but I did hear some of the press conference on YouTube.”

“He said the ship has been righted and I think that’s what that company needs more than anything, I think they need to get on a track to where people focus on the show as opposed to the drama that’s going on or just the individuals.

“I think when you got a show, it’s got to be focused on everything that’s going on, and everybody on that show, in order to make it successful.

“When you get to a point where there is only one person being thought about, it can be a problem.”

The six-time world champion addressed the chants during The Elite’s return, where fans were audibly chanting “F**k CM Punk.”

He said:

“Those fans didn’t start chanting that CM Punk chant for no reason when The Young Bucks came out.

“It was like they were picking sides as far as, you know, this is what we want. We want wrestling. We don’t want drama.”

The Elite weren’t the only ones to return at Full Gear after a lengthy absence.

Saraya (FKA Paige), made her in-ring return against Dr Britt Baker.

Booker T said he knew Saraya would return someday, explaining:

“I’m just glad to see her back. I predicted this. I said we’re gonna see Paige back in the ring real soon. I said we’re going to see her wrestling back in the ring real soon.

“I said I don’t know where it’s going to be at. I said I don’t know when it’s going to be, but I can tell you it is going to be sometime very, very quickly.

“I’m just happy to see her back in the ring. I’m happy to see she came back and got a win.

“You know, I mean, she put herself on the right track right off the bat. Paige has always been my girl, man. She’s always been very, very high on my list.

I know how it is to have your career just taken away from you like that and to see her come back, it’s pretty, pretty awesome.”

The next edition of AEW Dynamite on November 23 will address some of the fallout from Full Gear.

William Regal will speak for the first time since he betrayed Jon Moxley.
