Former WWE Star Reveals Stone Cold Steve Austin Conversations Ahead Of Serious Surgery WWE

A former WWE star has revealed the conversations they have shared with Stone Cold Steve Austin over their neck injury experiences.

Braun Strowman underwent neck fusion surgery in 2023, revealing he had the procedure on his C4 and C5 vertebrae.

With Stone Cold Steve Austin also having suffered a neck injury of his own in the late 1990s, Strowman opened up about conversations with the WWE Hall of Famer.

Speaking to TMZ Sports Inside The Ring, Strowman reflected on the 2023 injury, along with the aftermath, saying:

“In 2023, I had that really bad neck injury in the ring where I pinched my spine and both my arms went limp (and) were paralyzed for about three seconds.

“You can watch that match with Otis, and you can see it happen. I go to take off, I’m real weeble-wobbling. I get through the rest of the match but while I’m out there… It feels like I’m having boiling water poured down my arms, my fingers are numb. You see me kind of look at my hands and move them.

“We get the match done, get to the back and the doctors check me out. We’re trying to figure out what’s going on, but then for the three or four days before I ended up having to have surgery, every half hour or so it was like boiling water was being poured down my arms or my fingers would go numb or go to sleep.

“So, I’m literally freaking out. Oh my god, my career is over. My day-to-day life is over.”

Strowman would go on to share the conversations he had with Stone Cold Steve Austin, saying that the pair were really quite close, stating:

“I’m really close with Stone Cold Steve Austin, this injury was really, really similar to the one that ended his career so I called Steve, I talked to Steve a lot.

“He gave me a lot of reassurance and eased my mind with having the surgery.”

He can be seen on television, hosting Everything On The Menu with Braun Strowman, a USA Network series that sees the now former WWE star eating his way across America during his time with the company.
