Bray Wyatt Opens Up About WWE Release WWE

Bray Wyatt has, since his WWE return in October 2022, been just as captivating a presence as he was before his release in July 2021.

Between his departure and return, he didn’t wrestle at all, something he had done regularly since signing a WWE developmental contract in 2009.

In a recent interview with Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Wyatt addressed his mindset whilst he was away from the ring and how it has affected his return, saying:

“There is a certain reluctancy to me, where there hasn’t been in the past.

“It’s part of any athlete, when you’re away from something for so long, there is something in the back of your head that is like, ‘Am I still it? Am I still what I am, what I should be?’

“For the majority since I’ve been back, I was kind of there, in a sense, and the weeks have progressed, I’ve started to come into my own again and remember why I do this and how much it means to be out there and perform at things like the Royal Rumble.

“The closer I’ve gotten, I’ve started to sink my teeth into being what I should be.”

Wyatt will face LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match at WWE Royal Rumble on January 28.

It was recently revealed that the match will feature some “neon” elements, with WWE doing run-throughs before the match itself.

It was also recently reported that WWE sees Bray Wyatt as “the number one babyface on SmackDown” and “the biggest-slotted star that Roman (Reigns) has not worked with.”
