Heel WWE Star Breaks Character, ‘Grateful’ For ‘Special’ Career WWE

Chad Gable has reflected on his WWE career that started in November 2013 and sees him remain a constant on television to this day.

Having held the men’s tag team championships across all three brands, Gable currently leads Alpha Academy and recently has undertaken a different path in quest to claim WWE gold, turning heel.

Despite that change in attitude, Gable recently spoke to TNT Sports and candidly opened up about his journey through WWE, saying:

“I do (reflect) quite a bit, and I have to remind myself to do it, because things move so quickly, and your perspective can get a little rattled if you don’t.

“So you have to hone that in and look at it in a way of how special and lucky you are to really be doing this. Otherwise, frustrations and things can kind of throw you off kilter really quick if things aren’t always going perfectly according to plan or something.

“So I do it quite often, and when I do, I kind of dial in my perspective, it very quickly reminds me how special this has all been. Not just in a sense of living my dream that I always had as a kid, which is the coolest part, but I’ve seen the world 20 times over because of this.

“I’ve been to the UK, which is one of my favorite things we do, an endless amount of times, I’ve lost count. Europe, places like Saudi Arabia, China, all over, South America. And that’s been special, it’s one of my favorite parts, the travel.

“But just the people I’ve met, the fans that I’ve met, the interactions, and the ability to perform on the stages that I have in front of 80,000 people and all this. It’s mind-blowing, it’s crazy to look back at and realize that it’s actually happened. But it’s so special, and I’m really grateful for all of it.”

Gable’s attitude towards his Alpha Academy teammates has been less than positive, with him mocking and berating Maxxine Dupri, Akira Tozawa and Otis on a weekly basis.

The disharmony in Alpha Academy has led to the belief that Gable may be planning to replace its current members with the Creed Brothers.

On the May 20 episode of WWE Raw, Gable was able to defeat Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn, albeit with help from a belittled Otis, as can be seen in the footage below this news story.

Gable held the NXT Tag Team Championship and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Jason Jordan, along with being a two-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion, once with Bobby Roode and once with Otis.
