WWE SmackDown star and lethal lover Angel (Garza) has been getting a decent push on the blue brand recently as part of the Los Lotharios tag team with his cousin Humberto (Carrillo).
Garza has been captivating audiences since NXT, where he would incorporate a spot where he would rip off his tearaway pants during his match that quickly got over with the audience.
In a funny note in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that Angel was told to stop performing the spot ‘several months ago’, only for WWE to change their mind two weeks later.
He said:
I had mistakenly said that Angel wasn’t doing the tear away pants gimmick on a recent show when he did it without it being a production. The funny part of the story is that several months ago he was told no more of that gimmick. Then two weeks later, he was told management changed its mind and he was back to doing it. It was so brief that nobody even noticed or knew it happened
