WWE Star Shuts Chapter On NJPW; Reveals Reasons For WWE Return WWE/NJPW

A WWE star who returned to the company in December 2022 has revealed why they chose to return there instead of re-sign with NJPW.

Bronson Reed returned to WWE in December 2022 having been previously released in August 2021, embarking on a tour of Impact Wrestling and NJPW in between.

Reed appeared in NJPW under the ring name Jonah and made his debut at the November 2021 Battle in the Valley also working for Impact Wrestling.

Speaking on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Reed explained that the NJPW chapter is at an end, feeling he has stamped his name in the company with a shock victory over Kazauchika Okada in the G1 Climax 32 tournament.

Discussing his reasons for heading back to WWE, Reed said:

“That chapter is shut, and now I’m back in WWE and I want to do the same thing. I want to come to WWE and wrestle guys like Bobby Lashley, maybe future world champions, and things like that. Stamp the Bronson Reed name here in WWE.”

He would also note that the criticism he’s received wherever he appears is a benchmark of his success in those companies.

Looking at where he sees his future in WWE, Reed stated:

“I got to ‘NXT,’ I had become North American Champion, but I never got to be on a ‘Raw’ or a ‘SmackDown’ or do any of the Premium Live Events like a Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Backlash, any of those things.”

Bronson Reed defeated Johnny Gargano in a Steel Cage match on WWE NXT in May 2021 to becoming North American Champion.

In the WWE Draft, Reed was picked for WWE Raw, the brand he has been on since his return to the company in December 2022.
