WWE Cancelled Plans To Move Main Roster Star To NXT

A WWE star has revealed in a recent interview that there were plans in place for him to move to NXT last year but it never came to fruition.

Kevin Owens did make one-off appearance for the black and gold brand last year, but it sounds like it was originally going to be more than that.

Speaking with Bleacher Report, Owens said:

“Last year at some point, I was going back to NXT. It was all in motion and it was going to happen, and then it didn’t. To say that’s a thought that crossed my mind would be an understatement, but I would tell you right now that that’s not the case anymore. That’s just not where I’m at anymore. Now, I want to be on Raw or be on SmackDown and just fight like hell to create some memorable moments for everybody. That’s all I want at this point.”

The one-off appearance came at TakeOver: WarGames where Owens joined Team Ciampa against the Undisputed ERA the night before the Survivor Series pay-per-view. At Survivor Series he was back representing Raw but his allegiance was being questioned.

As with all currently active main roster talent, Owens’ future right now remains uncertain with the WWE Draft commencing on tonight’s SmackDown meaning he could be staying on Raw or moving over to SmackDown.
