A WWE star released in February 2025 has confirmed that they don’t intend to retire, hinting at a return to television.
Cedric Alexander was released from his WWE contract in February 2025, bringing an end to his eight and a half year run with the company.
With his no-compete clause now at an end, the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion has spoken about his future plans.
Appearing on Sportskeeda Backstage Pass, Alexander was asked if he sees his future in wrestling, responding:
“100%. I feel like I have a lot to add to a weekly product.”
Reflecting on his time in the wrestling business, Alexander would go on to note that television formed a backbone for his whole career, stating:
“I’ve wrestled for about 16 years now, since 2009. I made my TV debut for Ring of Honor two years after that, so I’ve essentially been wrestling on TV my entire career.
“I definitely feel like I have a lot to offer in terms of a weekly television show, whatever show that may be.”
A former member of the Hurt Business in WWE, Cedric Alexander is the only member to not be under a current AEW contract.
Speaking on the possibility of Alexander joining AEW, Bobby Lashley has addressed the potential of a reunion.
