A TNA Wrestling star has heaped praise on a former WWE rival, with the pair last competing in singles action at last year’s Slammiversary.

Having been released from his WWE contract in February of last year, Cedric Alexander is currently under a TNA Wrestling contract, having recently re-signed with the company.

His time in TNA Wrestling has seen him cross paths with familiar face from their shared tenures in WWE, in the form of Mustafa Ali.

With that WWE rivalry dating back to their days on 205 Live, Alexander recently shared his praise for Ali during an appearance on WRESTHINGS, saying:

“Man, Ali’s like a cakewalk. We go into the match with the same mentality, that we’re going to steal the show.

“Me and Ali have kind of always had that brotherly love and respect with each other… I don’t know, it’s weird. I feel like we’re just kindred spirits. Putting a match together with Ali is, like I said, a cakewalk.

“He has endless ideas, he is constantly, always thinking. That’s one of the things that I think helps us meld so well, because he has endless ideas for things he wants to do, and I kind of go off vibes, and I’m good with editing those ideas and then making them something else more.

“We just click. He loves having hands-on control and knowing the bits and pieces, and I’m good with just kind of going with the flow, when to elevate things and de-escalate things.

“I almost kind of forget I’m wrestling when I’m in the ring with Ali, because it just feels like two bros in the living room just wrestling when they were kids. It’s just easy and fun, I love it every time.”

The pair last crossed paths at TNA Turning Point in November of last year, with Order 4 (Ali, Jason Hotch & John Skyler) victorious over Alexander and The Hardys.

No Longer Part Of WWE, But Still Linked To The Product

While Ali was released in September 2023 and Alexander in February 2025, both stars have returned to WWE as part of the partnership with TNA Wrestling.

That multi-year deal would see Alexander involved in the invasion of September 23, which saw a number of TNA Wrestling stars invade WWE NXT.

Ali would return the following month, facing Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship, the very title he was supposed to challenge for in an advertised match against Dominik Mysterio mere days before his release.

A former X Division Champion, Ali has previously revealed his reason for re-signing with TNA Wrestling, citing creative fulfilment as a driving force.

With the partnership between TNA Wrestling and NXT still bearing fruit, there is the potential for further appearances for both former stars in WWE.

TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva has previously stated that they are ‘playing the long game‘ with the partnership, instead of focusing on short-term plans.
