An update has emerged on WWE plans for celebrity involvement moving forward, ahead of the company’s Netflix premiere.
With WWE Raw moving to Netflix in the US in January, and all WWE programming heading to the streaming service for international territories, there has been a lot of speculation about what Netflix-era WWE TV looks like.
Celebrities have become an increasingly regular fixture on WWE TV, with the likes of Bad Bunny and Logan Paul wrestling for the company multiple times, and the likes of Vanessa Hudgens and Jelly Roll making several appearances for WWE this year.
Per Deadline, Triple H stated at the Netflix HQ media event that there will be more celebrity involvement on Raw in the future.
It was noted in the article that both Netflix and WWE have had ‘ongoing conversations’ about potential IP expansion and opportunities for wrestlers and celebrities who are fans of wrestling.
Recalling Jelly Roll’s WWE ambitions, Triple H noted:
“I just saw Jelly Roll the other day and he’s still raving about wrestling. Every time I see him he says the same thing, ‘I got another 100 pounds to go, baby, and I’m doing a match with you guys.”
Triple H previously invited Travis Scott to appear live on the January 6 edition of Raw in Los Angeles, which will be the brand’s premiere episode on Netflix.
WWE gifted Scott an interesting custom championship belt, which you can read more about right here.
