WWE have released new merchandise celebrating Chad Gable’s final promo as El Grande Americano at AAA Noche del Los Grandes.
AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30, saw El Grande Americano defeat The Original El Grande Americano in a mask vs. mask match.
With the match seeing Chad Gable unmask, he would go on to deliver an in-ring promo to the fans at Arena Monterrey which has now been memorialized in a new T-shirt on WWE Shop.
Speaking to the fans, an emotional Gable would reflect on his time as The Original El Grande Americano, saying:
“I put on this mask to go on a quest to learn the art of Lucha Libre so I could beat all the Luchadores in the world that I hated, hated, hated. And in that process, on that journey, I learned everything there was to know about Lucha Libre, about Mexico, about AAA, the Mexican people and the Mexican culture.
“I’m man enough to admit I stand here today in front of you today not as a mask, but as a man. It pains me to say this, it hurts me bad, but with all the honor in the world, I’ll say that tonight, I could not overcome the Mexican spirit.
“But understand this, I will always be the Original El Grande Americano, but tonight, from now on, YOU are the ONLY El Grande Americano!”

Removing his mask to reveal a bloodied face, The Original El Grande Americano would return to being Chad Gable, going on to state:
“Me nombre es Chad Gable.
“I was born March 8, 1986, in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States of America.
“I wrestled in the Olympic Games in Greco-Roman wrestling and have been a professional wrestler for thirteen years.
“This is my beautiful family: my wife and my three lovely children.
“Mark my words. I don’t know when and I don’t know how, but Chad Gable will be back in AAA.
“From now on, this (the mask) is yours (hands it to El Grande Americano).”

A version of the promo appears on the back of the newly released T-shirt, which is available to pre-order in sizes ranging from S to 3XL.
The Rise Of Chad Gable In AAA
Initially seeking to undermine the form of Lucha Libre, Chad Gable went on to being cheered by the AAA fans after his match at Noche de Los Grandes
The star has previously commented on the spirit of the Mexican fans during his AAA heel run, noting that “it was a little scary at times“, yet the reaction he received after his match suggests that they have embraced him.
Born of a desire to continue the El Grande Americano story after Gable suffered a legitimate injury, Ludwig Kaiser would take the character to new heights, ably accompanied by Bravo & Rayo Americano (Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne), respectively. It would be Dunne in his backstage capacity who would produce the mask vs. mask match, which has been largely well-received by fans and critics.
One day, details will likely emerge of the original plans for El Grande Americano if Gable hadn’t become injured, but it’s difficult to envisage something as celebrated as what was seen why Kaiser stepped in and the feud between both iterations of the character developed.
For Gable, he has described himself as “creatively fulfilled” as he embarks on his babyface run and seeks to make amends on WWE television. With the vocal adoration of the fans over in AAA, hopefully there will be plans to get him back to Mexico, charting a new journey over there.
