Plans for WWE’s Chad Gable to head to Mexican promotion AAA only recently emerged and have now seemingly been scrapped.
With recent losses against Dragon Lee and Penta, Gable has sought the help of Dominik Mysterio who put him in contact with an expert on the “dark arts of lucha libre“.
All this was seemingly set up to give Gable time off television with recent reporting stating that Gable could be working dates for AAA in Mexico.
Bryan Alvarez did note that he wasn’t able to verify whether the plans were true or not in his original assessment.
Alvarez has now provided an update on his recent comment that Gable could be heading to the independent promotion in a post on Twitter.
The Twitter post confirms that Gable will not be heading to AAA, with Alvarez going on to reveal that this would have played into the storyline in WWE.
Alvarez notes that there had been a plan for Gable to be mentored by a Luchador in AAA, however the arrangement “may have fallen through”.
At the time of writing, it isn’t known who the Luchador would have been or what caused the plans to seemingly fall through.
With Gable currently taking time out to understand the aforementioned “dark arts”, American Made’s Creed Brothers lost to The Viking Raiders on the February 10 episode of WWE Raw.
WrestleTalk will provide updates on the situation should they emerge.
