WWE Star Continues Eight Year Championship Tradition

Johnny Gargano has continued his championship tradition which he first established almost eight years ago.

Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa are currently the WWE Tag Team Champions. DIY won the gold from Austin Theory and Grayson Waller on the July 5 SmackDown episode.

This is Gargano’s fourth WWE title, following previous reigns with the NXT Tag Team, NXT North American, and NXT championships.

Gargano has now taken to Twitter to continue his tradition of sharing a photo of his title belt in front of the “Welcome To Cleveland” sign, when bringing the gold back to his hometown.

This was a tradition he started in November 2016, when he returned to Cleveland with the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Explaining why bringing this title home feels extra special, Gargano tweeted:

This one is special as it’s the first Championship that I’ve brought back that I actually dreamed of holding while I was growing up.

Heading into one of the biggest weekends in Cleveland wrestling history as a Champion in @WWE. 🤎🧡

SummerSlam 2024 will emanate from the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3.
