A WWE champion vs champion match has now been confirmed, following a recent successful title defence.
After retaining his championship at Evolve Succession, WWE Evolve Champion Jackson Drake is now set to defend his gold against another champion.
It was previously announced that if Drake was still champion following Succession, he’d go on to defend his Evolve Championship against WWE ID Champion Cappuccino Jones at Wrestling Federation of America Presents The ID Showcase.
WWE has now confirmed that this match will indeed take place at the October 24 event.
The WWE ID Twitter account announced:
WWE ID prospect Jackson Drake is still the WWE Evolve Champion!
His next title defense will be on Oct. 24th vs. WWE ID Champion Cappuccino Jones when @wfawrestling1 presents The ID showcase in Concord, NH.
This match appears to just be for the Evolve Championship, rather than being a Winner Takes All contest for both titles.
Jackson Drake defeated Bryce Donovan at the Evolve Succession special to retain his Evolve Championship.
He is the inaugural champion, defeating Edris Enofe, Keanu Carver and Sean Legacy in a four-way match for the gold on the June 4 Evolve episode (taped April 25).
Cappuccino Jones is also the inaugural WWE ID Champion, winning the gold at GCW’s The ID Showcase event on August 1.
