Current WWE Champion Warns The Rock After ‘Stealing’ TV Time On NXT WWE

A current champion has sent a warning to The Rock after “stealing” TV time from him on Tuesday’s WWE NXT (January 7).

After opening the show at Monday’s WWE Raw on Netflix at Los Angeles’ Inuit Dome, The Final Boss would then make a surprising stop on NXT the following night at The Shrine Expo Hall.

Following a backstage interaction with his daughter and NXT General Manager Ava, as well as Ethan Page, Rock closed the show with a promo in which he implored the NXT audience to continue supporting WWE’s rising stars, while also briefly addressing his reconciliation with Cody Rhodes on Raw the night prior.

While Rock’s appearance was unsurprisingly appreciated by the NXT faithful, one top NXT star was not as enthused at Rock’s segment – that being new NXT Champion Oba Femi.

In the match prior to Rock’s show closing promo Femi dethroned Trick Williams in a three-way also featuring Eddy Thorpe, before then joining new NXT Women’s Champion Giulia on the stage in celebration.

After the win, Femi spoke with Busted Open Radio and was asked why he didn’t confront Rock for taking the main event spot on “his” show, to which Femi responded:

“Yes, of course it is, this is all mine, at the moment the time was being stolen from me, I wasn’t even aware it was being stolen from me. Maybe if I knew, I would have gone up to him and been like, ‘Hey, Uncle Dwayne, what are you doing?’

“I’ll let it slide this time. But the next time Uncle Dwayne comes in and steals time from me, there’s going to be problems.”
