Two WWE stars will challenge for an AAA championship at the upcoming AAA Triplemania Regia event, amid ongoing WWE-AAA talent crossover.
With WWE announcing the acquisition of AAA in April, talent from both brands will be featured on the June 7 WWE Worlds Collide event.
Following this, AAA will hold its own major event on June 15, with Triplemania Regia set to emanate from Monterrey, Mexico.
With Angel and Berto of Los Garza previously announced for this show, it has now been revealed that the SmackDown stars will challenge for Forastero & Sanson’s AAA Tag Team Championship at Triplemania Regia.
A video package featuring Angel, Berto and Santos Escobar aired during the May 31 AAA live show, during which Escobar noted that winning the AAA Tag Team Championship would be the first step in a multi-step plan for Legado Del Fantasma.
Escobar announced that he will return to AAA soon, and teased challenging for the AAA Mega Championship.
This championship changed hands later on this show, with El Hijo Del Vikingo winning AEW’s top title from Alberto El Patron. Vikingo’s match against Chad Gable at the upcoming Worlds Collide event had been advertised as an AAA Mega Championship match prior to Vikingo winning the gold.
Escobar, Angel and Berto will team together at Worlds Collide, against El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr, Pagano and Psycho Clown.
