An upcoming championship match has been cancelled due to a top WWE star being ‘medically disqualified’.
On tonight’s (December 5) episode of Raw, The Usos are set to defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against the team of Elias and Matt Riddle.
The winning team was set to defend the titles against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
However, the match on SmackDown will no longer be taking place as originally planned.
McIntyre took to Twitter to announce that he is ‘medically disqualified’ to compete on this week’s show.
He said:
Unfortunately I am medically disqualified to compete this Friday on #Smackdown
I don’t like to miss any shows as everybody knows but I promise I’ll be back soon
McIntyre was recently praised behind the scenes for his commitment to WWE’s insane work schedule.
We will provide updates on McIntyre’s situation as they become available.
