WWE Championship Match Confirmed For Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE Championship Match Confirmed For Saturday Night’s Main Event WWE

A Cody Rhodes WWE Championship match has now been made official for Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at the Wrestlepalooza event back in September, and has remained at odds with Drew since.

It was initially reported that a match between Drew and Jacob Fatu was slated for Saturday Night’s Main Event next weekend, with the winner earning a shot at Cody’s WWE Championship.

However, that will no longer happen due to Fatu missing time due to a dental procedure, which led to his planned SmackDown main event against Drew being cancelled, with Cody and Drew instead facing off to a disqualification ending.

Today, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis took to social media, where he announced that Cody Rhodes will once again defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event next weekend.

This will be the second World Championship match set for the event, as it was confirmed on last night’s Raw that CM Punk and Jey Uso will face off for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship on the show.
