WWE Championship Officially Vacated

WWE Championship Officially Vacated WWE

WWE has officially announced that a championship has now been vacated after a WWE star left the title in the ring.

On last night’s WWE NXT New Years Evil event, Oba Femi defended the NXT Championship in the main event against TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.

Oba ended up picking up the victory to retain the championship, but it was seemingly his last match as champion, as the final shot of the show saw Oba leave the NXT Championship in the ring after his victory.

In recent weeks, a number of NXT stars have been appearing as free agents on Raw and SmackDown, including video packages airing on both shows for Oba, implying he would be making his way up to the main roster in the coming weeks.

Today, WWE officially confirmed that the NXT Championship has now been vacated, with more details set to come soon.
